Verona Township was organized in 1861 with Thomas Scott named as the first supervisor. In 1866 a large sawmill was built, leading to the name of Verona Mills.
With a safe, small town atmosphere, great local schools and Huron County’s only airport, Verona Township is a great place to call home.

The Verona Township BOARD OF REVIEW will meet at the
Verona Township Hall, 3393 Sand Beach Rd. Bad Axe,
Michigan on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 4:00 pm.
This meeting is for the purpose of reviewing exemption
requests and clerical errors. It is not to review assessments.
